Best Fan I've ever had. December 13, 2006 Bo Wright (Warrenton, VA United States) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
This fan isn't completely silent, but it is an extremely quiet fan with only a small amount of "wind blade" sound, no motor or gear sounds. I bought a second one with the same WONDERFUL results. I think that these Hunter fans are the best made items I've purchased in a very long time.
BRAVO HUNTER.
Beautiful performance July 23, 2006 L. Bassill (Fresno, CA United States) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This fan oscillates beautifully and noiselessly, with great air movement. Beautiful design, as well. Motor is silent, no unnecessary noise while in movement. Fan is heavy, which lends to nice performance. Have always had good luck with Hunter fans. This one is no different.
Good fan July 18, 2007 G. Powell (Seattle, WA USA) 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
Lots of oscillating fans squeak where the hinge and the motor meet. Or the fan cage rattles because it isn't held together well. This fan has solid rim to hold the cage together with a bolt at the bottom. The fan appears to be very well made. It's heavy, that's from the heavy motor and the thick metal used to make the stand and the fan cage.
I also bought a Soleus Air FTM-25 10-Inch Oscillating Table Fan and then put them up on the kitchen counter to compare. The Hunter is made in Tennessee USA vs the Soleus which is made in China (there have been other products with less than spectacular quality from China) The Hunter fan cage is thicker wire, and the rim is a sold ban vs the Soleus which has 5 clips.
As for quietness, both fans on low were about the same. At high the Soleus is a tad noiser but it pushes just a bit more air. I suspect the noise is from the air movement not the fan.
Anyway it's a great fan, moves a lot of air.
Not made in the USA May 20, 2008 Sean M. Collins (Cochran, Ga. United States) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a nice looking fan and it moves volumes of air no problem. It is however, quite noisy. Had I researched the product more and realized that the Hunter name adds on some $25 for a product made in China I would have saved the $25 and bought the Soleus. I didn't mind paying more for a product made in the USA, I do mind paying more for a Chinese product with an American name stamped on it. I'm not anti-Chinese products or anything I just thought I was buying something made in the U.S. I realize it's my own fault I relied on the reviews left here and didn't check it out myself until the fan got here.
All in all it's a good fan I'd spend less and get the Soleus as I'm sure it's made in the same plant in China as this Hunter.
Good looks, great performance June 6, 2007 kanga (New York, New York USA) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
Out of the box, this fan is simply gorgeous - lovely brushed nickel finish, smoothly working controls. The fan blades at rest are flatter than I am used to seeing, but the performance is great. It does make some noise, but no more than would be expected for an appliance that is pushing air around. The motor is pretty silent, so all you really hear is the white noise of the air being moved. The sweep of the oscillator is close to a full 180 degrees, and in a smaller room the low setting is all that you need to keep the whole room cool.
